One of my favorite things to do with homegrown tomatoes is add it to a box of risotto mix. Risotto is a yummy, though sometimes a little bland, Italian rice dish - tomatoes (especially garden ones with actual taste) gives it a very tasty flavor. The picture up above shows an Italian herb Risotto with Purple Cherokee tomato - was so good. Today I used a Butternut Squash Risotto mix and added my newly ripened Sungella tomato and a regular red hybrid tomato - so good - topped with a little Parmesan and basil sprig.
What’s your favorite recipe for “real” tomatoes?

That sounds very good! Yummy! If I had extra tomatoes, I make a BLT sandwich or make tomato sauce from scratch.
Hello pg
I like my “real tomatoes” ………………
..chopped up in chunks and thrown into one of Jan’s delicious salads………..
..in my lunch box at work for slicing onto freshly made ham and cheese sandwiches……….
..plucked from the vine, still warm from the sun and eaten right there and then in the garden (groan).
And many, many more ways too.
Mick
