As much as I love having bees flourishing in my garden, they are starting to wear out their welcome. With the garden right by the back door and having to leave the door open to be able to watch my 2 year old DD1, the bees are becoming a nuisance. Two flew in today in the 30 minutes I had the door open and I caught them both in a cup and let them go outside. Finally DD1 came back inside so the door could be shut. Any ideas on contolling the bee population (without harm to the bees?)
Meanwhile, the beet seeds I planted a week ago are starting to really flourish. Baby has had colic and I hadn’t been able to post as much - I found the perfect remedy for her though - bouncing on an exercise ball. Puts her out like a light.
Will get some pictures up soon.

Hello pg
What kind of bees are they? Honey, Bumble or Carpenter? I know that pine scented cleaners tend to deter bees.
But, with bee populations falling it would be nice to find a way of keeping them out without causing harm.

Hmm, my garden is around the corner from my back door. But I haven’t seen bees around here in ages.
About the only thing I can suggest is to get a screen door for your back door.
Sorry to say that’s a good problem to have.
Is something attracting them to your doorstep? Some flowers? Or maybe they aren’t honey bees?
